Chicago Gets the Money

Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 Summer Olympics just got stronger. The Illinois House of Representatives has voted to cover up to $250 million in losses should Chicago host the games. And the funding package was passed, contrary to what some hoped/feared, without changes to Chicago’s existing gun laws.

The next hurdle for Chicago? They must hope that a developing row between the USOC and the IOC doesn’t get in the way.
